A MAN had a lucky escape after his car hit a tree and ended up on its side on Gaydon Road, Bishops Itchington.

The vehicle left the road on a bend and careered backwards into some trees, ending up on its side.

The incident happened around 11am on Sunday (October 17)

Paramedics arrived to find the 60 year-old man had got out of the car.

He declined hospital treatment.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service: “Astonishingly, the driver was able to get out of the vehicle himself and was walking about when ambulance staff arrived.

“Although he had a few aches he didn’t want to go to hospital.”
