New Stratford Town Trust chief exec to open his doors

Stratford Editorial 22nd Aug, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

THE NEW chief executive of Stratford Town Trust is opening his doors.

Justin Williams recently took over at the helm of the grant-giving organisation following former chief executive Helen Munro’s decision to retire.

And in a bid to engage more with the community, Mr Williams will be holding informal drop-in sessions every Friday.

The sessions, which will take place between 10am and 2pm, are for anyone – whether a member of the town trust or not – who wants to raise issues or simply talk to him.

Mr Williams is also hoping to build on the success of the members’ surgeries that were started up earlier this year.

He will be staging regular monthly events where trust members can meet other trustees, ask questions, share their views or voice any concerns without an appointment.

The surgeries will take place in the Marketspace at Stratford ArtsHouse between 5pm and 7pm on the last Thursday every month except December.

Mr Williams said: “We have more than 2,000 members and we want to actively engage with them to ensure that the focus of our activities is objectives that the community values.

“The sole purpose of the town trust is to support the community of Stratford – the more support the community gives us, the more we can do in return. Membership of the town trust is free and everyone living in the town should be involved.”

Stratford Town Trust gives out around £1.8million each year in three rounds of grants designed to support the local community.

Trust membership is open to anyone aged 18 or over who lives in Stratford town.
