STRATFORD Girls Grammar pupils are very ‘appy’.

Team Lilies – made up of six 13 and 14 year old – were named winners of the ‘connected communities’ category at the national Apps for Good Awards.

Charlotte Stobart, Izzie Stock, Olivia Murray, Arushi Sharma, Rose Skirrow, and Mia Dunnakey created the app to support ten to 16 year-olds dealing with the loss a loved one.

The awards, which were held in London, saw hundreds of pupils vying to win one of six categories – Sustainable Communities, Accessibility, Connected Communities, Productivity, Information and Peoples Choice.

The team said: “We were very proud because we worked really hard, and we really connected with our app. We really want to help young people dealing with bereavement with this app and can’t wait to launch it next year.”
