A 30-YEAR-OLD man has been charged following an incident in Stratford at the weekend.
Police were called to a disturbance at a house in Elm Road at 9.45am on Sunday (April 17).
They say a teenage girl was believed to have been coerced into a house and physically assaulted – sustaining injuries to her head, neck and hands.
She was kept at the address for around half an hour from 9am to 9.30am before being walked her to her workplace and taken to hospital.
The man then returned to the house and climbed onto the roof where he was talked down by officers and subsequently arrested.
Adam Peter Sargent, of Elm Road, has since been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, false imprisonment, criminal damage and possession of cannabis.
He is due to appear at Leamington Magistrates Court on Tuesday (April 19).
DS James Coleman said: “This is a very unusual incident for Stratford, and we would like to reassure the public we are doing all we can to establish what has occurred.”
Anyone in the area of Elm Road or Justins Avenue at the time of the incident who has information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
