Gadgets can help people look after their health at home

HEATH bosses in Warwickshire are encouraging people to use technology to look after their health.

Gadgets like smartphones, tablets and laptops can allow people to get professional advice from the NHS Choices website, which provides information about conditions and illnesses.

There are also short films of people with the same conditions who give advice and share their experiences.

And the symptom checker advises the best course of action – whether it be managing symptoms at home or going to hospital.

Chair of South Warwickshire CCG,  David Spraggett, said: “The NHS Choices website is a trusted resource that can help you make lifestyle changes such as losing weight, stopping smoking or getting fit.

“It also has lots of information on a wide range of illnesses. You may have been diagnosed with a condition – such as asthma, diabetes or a heart problem – that can’t be cured, but can be managed with medication and lifestyle changes.”
