FAMILIES are encouraged to lace up their running shoes in aid of Stratford Hospital’s £1million appeal.
A 5K fun run will be held at Stratford Racecourse from 10am on Sunday May 8.
Young and old can take part in the run before enjoying a fun day involving games, food and activities for the whole family.
All proceeds from the event, which costs £15 per person and runs until 2pm, will go towards the £1million appeal.
Hospital chiefs are looking to create a new cancer and state-of-the-art eye treatment centre at the existing site on Arden Street by early next year.
The appeal total currently stands at £719,000 and it is hoped the money will help fund everything from specialist chemotherapy chairs to iPads that do not come as standard in the new £22million hospital.
All runners will get a free t-shirt and goodie bag for taking part. Registration starts at 9am.
