A FORMER Stratford College drama student is in the running for a National Television Award.

Parry Glasspool attended the Alcester Road college as a teen before being offered a role as Harry Thompson in the Hollyoaks spinoff, Hollyoaks Later in 2013.

Less than 18 months later, he was cast as a series regular on the Channel 4 soap and after a dramatic year, he is now aiming to scoop his first major TV award.

The 23-year-old will be up against Emmerdale’s Gemma Atkinson, Eastenders’ Richard Blackwood and Coronation Street’s Shayne Ward in the Best Newcomer category.

The ceremony will be shown on ITV next Wednesday (January 20) at 7.30pm.
