Five remanded in custody following death of Stratford man in town centre

THREE people have appeared in court charged with the murder of a 36-year-old Stratford man.

Peter Mallon, 41, of Rumer Close, Long Marston, Neil Potter, 36, of Clopton Road and Tony Jelf, 39, of Childs Close, spoke only to confirm their names and addresses when they appeared before magistrates in Leamington on Friday morning (June 26).

Peter Mallon was wearing a blue T-shirt, Neil Potter was in a blue sweat top and Tony Jelf was dressed in a striped jumper.

Florence Caines, 26, from Kineton Road, Wellesbourne, who has been charged with theft and Donna Windsor, 37, of no fixed abode, who had been charged with attempted theft, also appeared before magistrates.




Magistrates remanded them in custody and they are next due to appear at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday (June 30).

Five people were arrested following the incident, which took place in Arden Street around 4.15pm on Monday (June 22).


On Thursday (June 25) police named the dead man as 36-year-old Tristram Wallace, who lived in Arden Street.

They confirmed a post mortem required further analysis before a cause of death could be determined and inquiries into the incident would continue.
