Event organiser Mary Nash said: “It was a wonderful occasion and I am sure everyone enjoyed themselves.

“This has become a very well attended event and I was very keen to support my brother Mike’s charities this year as he has compered for me since I started the event.”

Coun Gittus added: “The generosity of the residents never ceases to amaze me but the £1,200 total really was a magnificent achievement.”
