MARCO’S New York Italian, opening in Stratford next month, has appointed James Curran as the restaurant’s manager.

The experienced local restaurateur’s role will be to deliver the high quality and service on which the Marco Pierre White brand prides itself.

Originally from Sunderland, James moved to Warwickshire three years ago and has since seen through the successful launches of four catering outlets at Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust properties – Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Mary Arden’s Farm and Halls Croft.

James previously owned and ran the award winning White Hart pub and restaurant in Dorset, and has also managed a string of prestigious branded and independent restaurants in and around Manchester, including Gaucho Grill, Living Ventures and venues for North West maverick chef, Robert Owen Brown.

Commenting on his vision for the new restaurant, James said: “I see Marco’s as the place to go in Stratford, catering for a wide demographic including families, tourists, couples and theatre goers alike.

“We intend to woo our guests with great food in fantastic surroundings and seamless, friendly informal service. Not forgetting the bar in its own right with its great selection of beers, spirits and Italian wines alongside an opulent cocktail menu, fantastic for an after work nibble and drink on our sun terrace.”

James has already taken up his position ahead of the opening of Marco’s New York Italian on Thursday August 14.
