BIRTHDAY wishes from the Queen arrived for a Stratford resident.
John Mills celebrated his 100th birthday at Ambleside care home where family, including son and daughter John and Jane, and friends joined him for a party.
After joining the the RAF in 1934, aged 17, John served in Singapore and Burma before Second World War.
He was later part of RAF Squadron 67 and stationed in Singapore, Burma and Calcutta.
When John returned to the UK, he married Joan 1943, in Leamington.
Joan passed away last year aged 95 years.
In civilian life, John was a personnel officer at a toolmakers in Warwick.
