Events in Stratford put on map thanks to new signs

FESTIVALS and events in Stratford are being put on the map thanks to new promotional signs.

Warwickshire County Council awarded the town £15,000 as part of Operation Footfall – an initiative aimed at attracting residents and visitors to town centres.

The money has been used to set up two information points – one at the tourist office and one by the boathouse – to display posters for the likes of Stratford’s literary, music, food and film festivals.

Director of Stratford Literary Festival, Annie Ashworth, said: “There is plenty of signage in Stratford directing people to Shakespeare properties but not a great deal of opportunity for the fantastic number of cultural events to promote themselves to local people and tourists.

“We have put up the signage at key footfall points which will draw attention to the extensive offering of cultural events and festivals which go on in Stratford.”
