Burglary team jailed for south Warwickshire raids

A PROFESSIONAL burglary team who carried out a series of raids, mainly targeting large detached houses have been jailed.

The raids included two homes in Stratford, one in Wellesbourne, together with others in Warwick, Southam, Long Itchington and Ladbroke.

Adrian Bolbos and Ciprian Campean both pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court to conspiracy to burgle, and Gheorghe Bechian denied the charge but was convicted after a trial.

Given credit for their pleas Bolbos, 33, of Denville Crescent, Birmingham, was jailed for three years and nine months, and Campean, 27, of the same address, for two years seven months.

Bechian, 37, who was living with his parents in Boscombe Road, Birmingham, was jailed for five years – consecutive to a three-year sentence he is already serving for ATM frauds.

Prosecutor Matthew Barnes said the conspiracy lasted for 17 days in March, and involved 16 burglaries and one attempted burglary, although Campean, who was abroad at the start, was only involved in the last five of them.

During the whole period Bolbos was using a Ford Mondeo which had been registered and insured in a fictitious name, with him as a named driver, and its sat-nav showed it had been near the scene of many of the burglaries.
