Alcester Male Voice Choir on hunt for new members

Stratford Editorial 7th Sep, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

BUDDING singers are being invited to find out more about joining Alcester Male Voice Choir.

The 80-strong choir will be holding its annual open evening at The Jubilee Centre in St Faiths Road from 7.30pm on September 21.

The choir has raised thousands of pounds for local causes over the years and is set to go on a tour of Belgium in the autumn.

There is no audition process but members must be able to commit to weekly rehearsals on a Wednesday.

Choir musical director, Judith Land said: “The choir is made up of gentlemen from all walks of life and differing musical abilities, but it is this diversity that has made us so successful.

“While membership is open to all those who are young at heart, I would like to encourage the younger generation to come along and find out what is so special about singing with the Alcester Male Voice Choir.

“During the evening, existing members will also be sharing some of their most unforgettable experiences with the choir both from concerts at home and overseas tours and we look forward to welcoming potential new members.”

Those who want to come along are asked to email [email protected] or call 07886 139781 in advance.
