WARWICK Tae Kwon-Do TAGB Tigers enjoyed a brilliant day at the English Championships at the University of Worcester Arena where more than 1,500 competitors took part.

Warwick club came away with three gold medals, four silvers and a bronze, which is an amazing achievement considering the size of the tournament.

Fifteen-year-old Jamie Simpson won the cadets heavyweight black belt sparring division, whilst 13-year-old Connor Kirk won the boys’ yellow belt middleweight sparring event.

Eight-year-old Jordan Gardner won gold in the green belt tag team sparring, whilst instructor Cassie Oury won silver in the ladies’ black belt patterns.

The ladies were not done there as Beccy Jones claimed silver in the executive ladies’ black belt sparring and Joanne Kirk won silver in the ladies’ blue belt heavyweight sparring.

Eight-year-old Gabriel Butler-Clarke achieved silver in the green belt boys’ tag team sparring and Isabelle won bronze in the black belt girls’ heavyweight sparring.

Coach Dave Oliver said: “It was a great day for everyone who took part and we now look forward to the Welsh Championships in May at Cardiff University.”
