THE CURTAIN came down on Shipston Proms in the traditional style at the weekend.

The 17th annual event ended with hundreds packing into the town centre for the last night finale on Saturday (July 4).

This year’s proms featured over 30 events with everything from classical to rap, and entertaining the crowd in the Square on the final night were Fame Contest winners – 12 year-old Shipston High School pupil Toby Coffey who sang three songs including Bruno Mars’ When I Was Your Man, and indie trio Brixton Alley, made-up of Jonny Magro, Ben Wells and Alex Wells.

The evening was completed by performances from The Peas, Duke and Creedence Clearwater Revived.
